About Us & Our Schnoodles

A Day in the Life of Our Dogs

Hello! Thanks for visiting our site.

My name is Andrea. I am a stay at home mother and Schnoodle breeder. I love taking care of my dogs and their puppies. It is a highlight in my daily routine of dishes, laundry, lunches, etc. Our dogs make things around our house funnier and warmer. They are very loving and great to have around.

Our family is relocating to Mobile, AL. A beautiful city located just North of the Gulf of Mexico. My husband and I have four children, two boys ages 8 and 14, and two girls ages 9 and 12. Our children help raise the puppies from the time they are born until the time they go to their new homes. Our goal is to raise a beautiful puppy with a well rounded personality for families like us. We have been breeding Schnoodles since 1995 in search of the perfect dog. We picked our parent dogs based on their coat, color, conformation, temperment and size. They are AKC registered. We only breed 1st generation Schnoodle puppies so that everyone can get the best of both breeds. These are the only type of puppies that we produce. This enables us to devote all of our efforts to raising the perfect puppies. Our dogs live in our home, unless they are taking care of business outside. Schnoodles are not the type of dog that can live outside in your backyard. Their coat is soft and wavy and will get very messy if left outside for any length of time. They do best at your side, after all...... this is where they prefer to be. Our dogs sleep in thier crate in our den at night (which is the potty training method that worked best for us). Mini-Schnoodles think that their place is right next to you at all times. They are very loving, protective, loyal friends.

Our Puppies

Our puppies are raised in a very loving environment. Our children participate in everything from the birth to the day we send the puppy home with a new family. The puppies tails and dewclaws are removed with their first visit to the vet. around 4 or 5 days old. The next visit at 2 weeks is to get their worming medicine. The puppies are all looked over and weighed in. Then they go back at 6 weeks for their first shots. They are weaned in the beginning of that week, and training begins. They are ready to go home when they are eating solid puppy food well. I feed all my dogs Purina Puppy Chow with Mother's milk proteins. It is just as good as the more expensive brands, and the dogs prefer the taste. Once your puppy is home, you are welcome to change the food to whatever brand that suits you. Just mix the food for about a week until he/she is used to the new food.

Our puppies are ready to go to their new homes at six weeks. I do this because research has shown that the seventh week is the strongest bonding period for the puppies. Previously, it was believed that puppies should spend this time with their siblings establishing the order of the litter and learning how to behave among their brothers and sisters. I have been around puppies and adult dogs all my life, and believe that this seventh week should be spent with their permanent family instead. The puppies should bond with the people and surroundings that they will be dealing with on a daily basis for the rest of their life, not with their brothers and sisters that they may or may not ever see again. This seventh week is also when the puppy should be exposed to experiences that he/she will be expected to deal with on a regular basis. For example: bathing, walking on a leash, other animals, other people, children, car rides, toenail trimming, etc. If your puppy is exposed to these things at an early age, he/she will consider these activities normal later in life. These puppies are not just animals, they should be treated like a child who needs your love and guidance to live a healthy, happy life.
